Safe Travel - No more Li Ion Batteries →
Here’s the deal: the FAA has decided that as of Jan 1, 2008 (tomorrow), Li Ion batteries cannot be packed in checked bags at all. You are allowed to have 2 loose batteries, in plastic bags, in a carry on. Batteries that are installed in a device are exempt. This won’t really matter to anyone who isn’t say, a professional photographer. We need to have loads of spare batteries all...

Spliced Mango – begins?
Lots of projects coming in right now. Trying to come up with a design for Spliced Mango – our new web design group. Have to get a proposal done soon – already too late for today on the East Coast, but should be good for Monday – hopefully. More details if/when it all actually happens.

Leopard's 3D dock
All over the internet people are complaining about the new dock in Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard). They claim that the new 3D look is too confusing, too ugly, nor realistic enough, or some such. I’ve been using Leopard since it came out, and I can’t understand what the problem is. The ‘new’ dock is really not the different from the old one. The UI is the same. The graphic look,...

It’s like a facebook, but only for Syracuse University. It’s been around for several weeks now and still has less than 300 members. It’s sort of a shame – the site design is really good. But the reason for failure is obvious: who really wants another, smaller, facebook?

I just finished working here. I’m done. A year as photo editor, went by… I thinking quickly. Sorta. Kinda. It was quite a bit of fun. Here’s what I accomplished: Brought the photo dept. into a 21rst century by implementing Lightroom and helping to redesign the network/server side to ensure that backups actually happened. We went to a haphazard just-throw-things-where-ever file system...
